The Truth - 62

The Truth - 62

The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth

I am sad, very sad indeed

I am sad that 60 years after independence, we as a people still find it extremely very difficult to contain one another

I am sad that our Rulers always find a way to pitch us against one another and then descend on us as a predator would do to a prey

I am sad that while in saner democratic climes, water guns,  tear gas and other non-debilitating devices are used to disperse forceful and uncontrollable demonstrators, Nigeria's brand of democracy is one where live bullets are shot at peaceful protesters with the intention to kill and actually killing

I am sad that while arsonists, armed robbers, bandits and terrorists are having a field day maiming and killing Nigerians in their numbers on daily basis, the powers that be are more interested in using force to quell righteous indignation of the Nation's Youth

I am sad that Nigerians in their millions continue to pray to God on daily basis and yet the land drips with the blood of innocent people and one of the things that God HATES with a passion is the shedding of innocent blood - how then can He answer us?

I am sad that our democracy has been turned into what Fela Anikulapo Kuti of blessed memory described as "demonstration of craze"

The truth of the matter is that the turn of events in the past 24 hours especially with the shooting and the killings of Nigeria's flag bearing unarmed protesters at Lekki in Lagos has made me sad.

I am indeed very sad

Now that is *The Truth, the WHOLE Truth and nothing but the Truth*

  1. I feel so sad at the moment. It is unfortunate that the events has turned this way. Sincerely i was hoping it would have a better outcome. Nigeria politicians are true to type. They will never allow any issues to jeopardise their grips into power. They are not ready to relinquish the power to the masses.
My Generation has been categorised as Gbenudake(off the Mic) but the new generation of Nigerians had witnessed yesterday night why the old generation are sober, quiet and philosophical about Nigerian nightmare for the past 60yrs. The impunity is allowed to continue not because we lack courage to say our mind or to fight but we had seen enough blood shed in the past, there is no need to add more.

  2. All I can say is that let it not escalate and cause the harm that the stories will forever be told in years to come. I feel so bad because the so called leaders don't ever want to consider the lead in any action taken. 20th October 2020 is red day for this country as innocent citizens are killed for protesting peacefully against injustice and bad governance. I pray we don't forget easily in the year 2023,let us not take a token to trade for our good governance. I feel so sad. May the good Lord grant external to departed souls anf give their family great fortitude to bear their loss. Amen.

  3. I'm sad because we have leaders that only seek powers and not the responsibilities attached to it.

They care not for citizens that's why citizens cannot justifiably air their opinions. Probably they see us as slaves that are incapable of challenging them. Little wonder they went into their meetings out of the fear of what ideally would have happened to any government if the citizens arise in one voice to protest.

The occurrence of October 20th, 2020, will never be wiped out of Nigeria's history. 78 people killed by their own soldiers (people who ought to protect them), their own political leaders who ought to truly provide for their good.

We arise but they prefer we don't. We seek a better country but they say they're satisfied with what we have. We seek to progress but they say progress isn't allowed herein. We're a people, we re humans, we re Nigerians and we deserve a better life. We won't keep living a life devoid of utmost life's basics. God has given yet we're been deprived of.

God Forgive Us. God Pls Help Us!!

    I'm heart broken.
