The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth

 

I am sad, very sad indeed

I am sad that 60 years after independence, we as a people still find it extremely very difficult to contain one another

I am sad that our Rulers always find a way to pitch us against one another and then descend on us as a predator would do to a prey

I am sad that while in saner democratic climes, water guns,  tear gas and other non-debilitating devices are used to disperse forceful and uncontrollable demonstrators, Nigeria's brand of democracy is one where live bullets are shot at peaceful protesters with the intention to kill and actually killing

I am sad that while arsonists, armed robbers, bandits and terrorists are having a field day maiming and killing Nigerians in their numbers on daily basis, the powers that be are more interested in using force to quell righteous indignation of the Nation's Youth

I am sad that Nigerians in their millions continue to pray to God on daily basis and yet the land drips with the blood of innocent people and one of the things that God HATES with a passion is the shedding of innocent blood - how then can He answer us?

I am sad that our democracy has been turned into what Fela Anikulapo Kuti of blessed memory described as "demonstration of craze"

The truth of the matter is that the turn of events in the past 24 hours especially with the shooting and the killings of Nigeria's flag bearing unarmed protesters at Lekki in Lagos has made me sad.

I am indeed very sad

Now that is *The Truth, the WHOLE Truth and nothing but the Truth*

The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth

 

Today, just like other days in the past that you have read my write up, I have a very important message for you.

And the message is - stop believing that you should feel more confident before you take the next step.

Taking the  next step is what builds your confidence. It's what makes you ready!

You don’t need to have everything you want to achieve mapped out.

And you know what "next step" I'm referring to—that important one you're just not quite “ready” to take yet... the one you keep waiting for the "right" time to take.

Well, it's time! It's time to allow yourself to be a beginner again. These "new normal" times demand it.

Remember that we all learn the way on the way. So, do the best you can until you know better. Once you know better, do better.

Seriously, learn to start every day before you feel ready, and I promise you will learn how to succeed, step by step, before you even realize you’re good enough.

Ask any parent if they felt 100% ready for the arrival of their first child (or their first day as the parent of a 3-year-old, a 13-year-old, or a 23-year-old ). The answer will always be “no.” They just do the best they can to take the next step, and then they figure it out from there.

No matter what it is, you just need to get started—to make STARTING a daily ritual 

Because standing still, you have no momentum. Momentum and progress are what build confidence and erode apprehension.

Rituals put you in motion without having to think (and over-think) about the next move. You decided long before you acted—now you just act. And you act intentionally.

And when you act in this way, you make the most rewarding progress imaginable, every single day.

Learning to begin each day with intention and end it satisfied with the progress made is a game-changer.

Rituals really can—and really will—change YOUR life.

Now that is The Truth, the WHOLE Truth and nothing but the Truth
