11 Hard Truths about Love You Should Know

1. There is no love without self love

Pay close attention to those people who tell you how much they love you, but who treat themselves as if there is nothing worthy about them.

If a person has no love for themselves, they will have no love to offer to those around. How can anyone offer you something they themselves don’t have? It’s just not possible.

“I don’t trust people who don’t love themselves and tell me, ‘I love you.’ … There is an African saying which is: Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt.” ~ Maya Angelou

2. Love is not selective

I used to be so proud of the fact that I had love only for a selective few.

And in my ignorance, I failed to realize that my love was flawed and imperfect. Because just as the Eckhart Tolle so beautifully said it,

“Love is not selective, just as the light of the sun is not selective. It does not make one person special. It is not exclusive. Exclusivity is not the love of God but the “love” of ego. However, the intensity with which true love is felt can vary.”

3. Codependency is not love

So many people confuse co-dependency with love when in fact these two have nothing to do with one another.

Love is pure, perfect, and honest. While co-dependency is nothing but fear masked as love trying to cling onto other people by sucking the life out of them and by making them feel responsible for our own happiness, fulfillment, and well-being.

4. Love is not blind infatuation

You often hear people say things like: Oh my God, I fell in love! I’m so happy. And then after a little while, the same people will affirm: Oh, I’m so unhappy. I no longer love them. I fell out of love.

But the truth of the matter is that what these people felt wasn’t love, but rather a blind infatuation that lasted for a little while and then it disappeared. Because that’s what infatuation does – it comes and goes.

Love isn’t something you fall in, and out of. Love just is. Love is eternal and always present. And if there’s true and honest love in your heart for someone, this love will remain with you for as long as you live. And whether you allow this love to be felt or not, that is your choice.

6. Love is not blind, or foolish

Love is not foolish, and love is not blind. Love will not permit us to be walked all over by those we love.

If somebody you love treats you in toxic and unkind ways, out of love for them and yourself, you will be guided intuitively to do what’s right – by either removing yourself from the toxic relationship or by asking them to change and correct their ways – but under no circumstances will love ask you to stay in a relationship where you will be abused, manipulated, and mistreated. So keep that in mind.

7. Love is to be offered to all

You might think that the only people worthy of your love are your family, your partner, your friends and a selective few.

But the truth of the matter is that the whole world is worthy and deserving of your love and affection. And since we are all ONE – connected with each other in a profound and meaningful way – it is your responsibility to expand your circle of compassion and offer your love and support, not just to those close to you, but to the whole world.

8. Love needs nothing in return

If you think you have a right to receive just because you have given your love to others, that is a clear sign your love is flawed and imperfect. Because love is pure and unconditional. It offers itself to the whole world without wanting anything in return. And even though we were taught to believe that we should only offer our love only to those who offer their love to us, we should never forget that true love comes with no conditions.

9. The word Love has become empty of meaning, but love itself has never lost its power

We go around throwing “I love you’s” as if love was nothing. But love is not, nothing. Love is everything. Love is the Source of all things. Love is what we all need, what we all seek, and what we all need.

And even though the word love has become empty of meaning through years and years of misuse, love itself has never lost its value and its power.

10. Love isn’t what we think it is

Love isn’t what we think it is. Love is what we feel. And since the majority of people have become disconnected from their own hearts and feelings, what we are getting is not love, but an idea of what love is supposed to be.

11.    Love Is Not Sex

A lot of people have been ruined because they thought that they could use sex to hold someone down in love. So many girls have become Mothers by force, so many boys who were unprepared to become Fathers have become emergency Fathers simply because they confused sex for love.

You do not use sex as a show of love or as a sign that you love someone.

If you love someone, you love them for who they are and what they stand for and not necessarily for what you can get out of them

And these are 11 hard truths about love we should all know.

Greatest Love - Whitney Houston

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone to fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me

[Chorus:]

I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I lived as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
#Learningtoloveyourself

And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love

The Interviewee Who Hated Me

This short piece broke the internet a few days ago

I am reproducing it here for those who missed it or who read it in a hurry

Here:

"THE INTERVIEWEE WHO HATED ME
Six years ago a guy looked at me face-to-face and boldly told me, "I don't like you!"
I immediately fired a response. I asked him, "Thank you for the honest feedback, but those whom you like, how has it made their life better? How does your liking people pay their bills or secure them a bank loan? My brother keep your like, I need God's like and that's what guarantees my future."
Today I joined a CEO friend of mine in on interview panel to recruit some new staff. It was a long session. As we returned from a coffee break to continue the hectic interview session, that same guy walked in with his grey jacket and CV, coming for the interview.
Our eyes kissed by fluke. We immediately recognized each other. "The world is indeed spherical," I said to myself.
He felt very uncomfortable throughout the interview. One could clearly see the volcanic eruption playing out in his whole nervous system. He even mistook his date of birth for his last date of employment. It wasn't yet my turn to ask him questions so I allowed everyone to take their turns with him and deliberately opted to interview him last.
When it got to my turn, the first thing I said was, "I LIKE YOU so much, you look to me like a brilliant and intelligent person, but it seems you are not doing well now because something bothers you, true?"
"That's very correct, Sir!" he responded.
"OK, look at me straight in the eye, I was never offended that day. It is very normal that sometimes as humans you just don't like certain people, but I wasn't bothered either, because whether you liked me or not, it was inconsequential to my life and my success path. As you can see, fate has brought you to my lair."
I stood up and beckoned him to come and embrace me. Everyone on the panel at this point were at sea - wondering if we had expeditiously recast an interview session to a Hollywood movie scene.
He hugged me so long and deeply that I felt it. Then I told him, "Now get your confidence back brother and answer the questions like a Pro Shark that you are!"
We all burst into laughter. Everyone suddenly liked him and the room became livelier. The interview became more like a discussion. Well, to cut the long story short, he got the job!
Lessons:
1. Be careful how you treat people when they appear to be in their vulnerable state. Your next level may be hanging in their balance, somewhere in the future.
2. If you dislike someone, it is not their fault, it is YOUR FAULT; work on yourself to find good in people and reinvent your mind to see everyone as likeable.
3. Don't spew hatred vocally just because it came into your heart. You may say it to someone who will keep it forever and use it against you when you find yourself in your own low moments and need them.
4. Learn to forgive, overlook people's dislike and hatred for you. Don't punish people just because you have the position and privilege to do so, bless them instead. That's how you court God's blessings, favour and protection."

A Letter To Humanity

My fellow Human Beings,

When was the last time
You looked at yourself in the mirror
And got a glimpse into yourself?

When was the last time
You saw through the eyes of another
And recognized yourself in them?

Do you even remember who you are?
Do you even remember what it means to be a Human Being,
Or have you lost your sense of self completely?

We are walking in darkness,
Wanting the world to Light up our world.

But how can a dark and wicked world,
Give us anything other than itself?

You have been facing the wrong way
Wanting the world to give you what the world has not

And if Love and Light are truly what you’re after
You’ll open your eyes and start walking in the light

Look for Light,
And Light is what you’ll find.

Look for love
And one with Love,
You will Become!

People, It's The Newest Month In The Universe!!!!

It's November, the eleventh month of the year 2016

It has pleased God to bring us into it and for that there is a purpose

In it, He shall
provide for us
sustain us by His Mighty Right Hand
protect us with His Wings
defend us with His Shield
enable us to be that He wants us to be
awaken our cold spirits to His Service
love us like never before

This November, God shall uplift us beyond our expectations
He shall turn His Face to us and brighten our days
He shall not let the sun smite us in the day time nor the moon in the night
And He shall not let our feet hit upon any stone

It surely shall be a very joyful, purposeful and fulfilling month

Happy New Month to all my friends

Love Yourself First

You know what I realized? That no matter how much you love someone, and no matter how much you want to be of service to them, if they're not willing and open to receive your help, chances are that your love will not reach them... you won't be able to offer them your
love and support.

It's the lack of self love that keeps people from accepting the love that the world has to offer.

We have to learn to love ourselves because only then we will feel worthy of the love that comes our way from those around us...

And I hope you will take one step each day to move yourself closer to
yourself, and closer to loving all that you are as much as you want the world to love you.

Because You're Worth It!

BIG HUG
