Get Your 'BUT' Out Of The Way

I have come across quite a number of persons who in conversation say to me -

Doctor, I really want to be an achiever BUT

or

Doctor, I want to have the best things of life BUT

or

Doctor, I would really want to do something unique BUT

And at all those times, I always say back to them

You could be what you want to be

You could do what you want to do

You could have what you want to have

if only you would just get your 'BUT' out of the way

I want you to do something

Start today to practice what I call the 'BUT MINDFULNESS' - now that simply means for you to take note of the number of times you use the word BUT in your sentences about the things you want to be or do or have or the place you want to go, you will discover that the only thing standing between you and all those things is BUT and it's your own BIG BUT

Why?

because the Universe has given you everything you need or want in large quantities and it is only your BUT that is keeping you from accessing them.

After Secondary School...

Some of your classmates have gone out of the country, some are now graduates, some have gotten married, some have given birth, some are dead too don't forget that, some haven't even gained admission into the tertiary institution, but you know that feeling when you meet your classmate, and it seems like he/she has reached his dreams and you're not yet close to yours?

Yea, somehow feels like jealousy, its a normal feeling. But, You must not regret your life. 

We all are different and our path to greatness is not same in distance. Some might reach before you, some might reach after you but whatever level you are presently, please keep trying to break limitations and move further. 

Celebrate the success of others, it's an application for yours. Your friend buys a car now, be happy with him/her. Remember when you get yours, theirs wouldn't be the latest again. 

Life is not by competition, if not we all Will be born into one type of family, one religion and same everything. The passion in you, never quench. The desire in you, keep it burning. what you pass through, write it down because one day the world will be ready to read it.

There's no height you cannot attain, just believe, define goals and recognize distractions, spend time teaching yourself, because the things that mainly take people to the top, is the things they devoted time to develop. 

Don't be intimidated by your fellow's success, the sky is too wide that the birds can fly without touching themselves.

Why You Should Always Say "No"

Do you find it hard to say "No"?

Saying "No" to an acquaintance who calls you abruptly to meetup so he can share a "business opportunity"?

Saying "No" to a buddy who calls you up for beer, when you should be catching up on sleep instead?

Saying "No" to a rude customer who wants to engage your services, but keeps haggling on prices, and yet asking for more freebies?

Saying "No" to a colleague who is asking you to do some work, when you are already late on your deliverables?

Or even saying "No" to excessive food in a party when you are trying to cut down on your waistline?

Here's the thing...

Successful people are amazingly good at focusing.

When they say "Yes" to getting something done, they say tons of "No" to everything else.

If they want to get something done well and within their deadlines, they say "No" to all other distractions.

After all, we all have the same 24 hours a day.

And it ain't that long - we can only squeeze in so much activities.

So we have to be super selective on what we CHOOSE

to do.

For every goal you have made to build your dreams...

you have to learn to say "No" in a lot of other things that are not aligned in your goal.

As long as you are clear about what you want in life, don't feel guilty about saying "No".

Be like a postage stamp.

Stick to one thing until you get there.

Don't Put Life Off Until Tomorrow!

When a man is born, his life's countdown has already started and each day makes him get older and brings him closer to his grave.

This is one fact that all men have to understand and internalize it.

Whether we like it or not, life is going on,

in good weather and bad weather, it is going in,

in cold and winter, summer and autumn,

whether the sun is high up there in the air in the day time or the moon is there in the night time;

whether it is raining cats and dogs or burning flesh with heat;

Life is going on

In sickness and in health, life is going on

In riches and poverty, life is going on

Even when the taste of living is gone, life goes on

It doesn't wait for anyone; it doesn't wait for fairer weather or any of such things.

Being conscious of this fact, it makes no sense then to POSTPONE  or PUT OFF life until a latter day or date.

Life is to be lived everyday

It is to be a daily experience and no one has it on

A lot of people have the dream to be this or be that, to have this or have that before they start living their lives ...

but today I want to remind you that LIFE IS LIVED IN STAGES and missing out on any of the stages especially at the younger age makes one suffer from ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and thus get stuck to childhood acts and habits.

Each life stage comes with its own fantasies, hard facts and fiction and they are better experienced in that stage than carried forward.

Moreover we are here on a mission and none of us knows when that mission would be accomplished and this means that no one knows just the exact time when it would be his turn to return to the Maker.

When I was growing up, I received the best piece of advise any Father would give to his Son from my own Father. He told me

"live the life you have to live when you have to live it"

For each stage of life, live that life - be open and receptive, laugh a lot, give a helping hand to another worse off than you are, forgive quickly, run the race until the winds leave your lungs, love someone, have fun and enjoy your life.

Don't put off life for tomorrow, because tomorrow could be a hundred years when you would be all bones and no energy left to enjoy the life or it could be just 24 hours when the bell shall toll!!!

You Can't Win If You Don't Try

In this life time, I have met a number of persons who are specialists in complaining but come short in action.

They have all the adjectives and anecdotes to describe their failures and frustrations but never lift a finger to help themselves.

They are very willing to blame everything and anything for how their lives suck but never themselves.

They are good, infact very good at practicing the age old excuse of man - "passing the buck"

They take no responsibilities, they bear no flakes, they keep pushing away and never pulling in.

I am sure you would have met such people too or you might even be one.

Well, today I just want to tell you that there is no substitute to ACTION if you want to succeed.

It is very possible for you to be WHATEVER you want to be, but that won't happen on a platter, you must be ready to WORK on it and work is an action.

Who amongst you wanting to be a Medical Doctor would sit down in his father's house, fast and pray about it and expect to be a Medical Doctor?

Would you not rather earnestly desire to be apprenticed to a renowned Medical Doctor so that you can learn the skills from him and also become proficient yourself?

And that applies to whatever, anyone wants to be whether it is being a Lawyer or an Architect or an Engineer or a Computer Scientist or a Tanker Driver or a Bricklayer e.t.c.

Stories abound of how people have changed their destinies because they took action on what they wanted to be.

I have my story too

The only way to win at the game of life is to try!!!

The only way to succeed at whatever you set your eyes on is to work at it

You can't win, if you don't try

So try!!!

Even if you fail, try again and again and again until you succeed.

Because "failure is an orphan but success has many relations"

A song lyrics go like this

"if you try and fail

Don't ever give up

But remember

life is what you make it ......."

Nothing gladdens the heart more than being successful at one's chosen desire

When you are what you really wanted to be, even your entire environment is at peace with you just as you are with it

So, today, TRY

The "Witch" Lives In You

Often I hear people complain of how they have remained stagnated for years, how nothing ever works for them  and they believe "erroneously" though that there is a witch somewhere that is making life difficult for them.

They see the witch in their dreams every night, they are always being pursued by the devil and his demons, they always imagine the worst whenever they have the opportunity to think.

They think that someone took their picture to some coven and that's where their destinies are tied down.

They listen to any and every "man of god" that comes around.

They have done so many "family deliverances" and even "personal deliverance"

And yet, nothing seems to happen simply because that "witch" lives in their heads, in their brains, in their thought processes.

Wrong beliefs, wrong thoughts, wrong actions would only be perpetuated by the "witch within"

When you are unable to think positively, the witch within is at work

When you are unable to take a step to actualize your dreams, the witch within is at work

When you know what to do but allow yourself to be paralyzed by too many analysis, the witch within is at work

When you attend deliverance sessions and then go to sleep, expecting God to do for you what you ought to do for yourself, the witch within is at work

If your life sucks now, it is not because of any witch without but it is because of the witch within.

God lives in you Yes He does but so does the witch too!!

Unfortunately, God gave you the Power of Will and the Power of Choice and so whatever you allow in your life is ENTIRELY YOUR CHOICE

Until you kick that witch that lives in you out of your life, I'm afraid it will continue to suck!!!

Take your life back today!!!

If Not Now, Then When?

 

There's something to do!

There's a decision to make that would turn your life around!

There's a skill to learn to perfect that which you have been called into!

There's a trip to take to get near the Source!

There's a gift to be given out just to smoothen the pathway!

There's a talk to have to clear out the rough edges

And there's a look to give to turn the roaring tides

But Yet

You sit there and say "you are thinking it over"

You dither, you postpone, you procrastinate, you prevaricate

You think that you have all the time in the world

And you forget that time is the most PERISHABLE COMMODITY on planet earth and that when it is gone, it is forever, it can NEVER be called back.

When shall you take that decision?

When shall you have that much needed talk?

When shall you embark on that trip that would change your horizon?

When shall you give that smile and that touch that shall broaden your boarders?

How about that gift to smoothen the pathway?

When?

Just when???

Don't forget that whatever is needed for you to do in this life, MUST of necessity be done by you since you can never run away from your shadow.

So cut the chase, get to work, do it if you have to.

The best time to have done anything was like 20 years ago and the next best time is NOW, do it!!!

Nothing costs much more than a missed opportunity

Take time into your hands, and get the tick off your back.

Seize The Day!

It's a brand new day and a great opportunity to make a difference has been presented to us.

Bringing us to this day is God's gift to us and what we make out of it is our gift back to God, so knowing this, what would you rather do?

Giving Him wholesome and awesome gifts is what He really deserves and desires.

And to give God wholesome and awesome gifts, there is only one thing to do - SEIZE THE DAY

Regard the day as a Bull and take it by its horns

Face your reality and leave the pretenses aside

That decision which would turn your life around but which you have procrastinated over the months to take, TAKE IT TODAY

That reconciliation which you have refused to have all this while, HAVE IT TODAY

That grudge which you have been bearing against those that betrayed you, DROP IT TODAY

That action which you need to take to make more money, DO IT TODAY

That reachout which you have been dreaming of doing towards those you are better off than, DO IT TODAY

Do all that you need to do today, don't let any be left

Most especially, don't let the day go to waste

Seize every opportunity today to be better than you were yesterday

That is the gift worth giving back to God

And when you have done your all, leave the rest to Him that knows you much more better than you would ever know yourself

Drop That Baggage

It's the beginning of a new month and time to break with the past by dropping the baggage that is weighing you down

My friends,

Greetings of the new morning to you.

Every morning, I give thanks to the Almighty God Who makes it possible for me and members of my family to wake up filled with strength to persevere.

I also thank Him for you my friends that you and yours enjoyed this miracle of all times.

And so together we shall continue to hallow His Name for ever - Amen
 

It is the beginning of a new day, it is just not another day, but 

a NEW DAY because from eternity, there has been no day like the 1st of August 2016 and to eternity there would be none like it when it is gone.

What then shall we do with this day?
 

Carry over the old baggage that has kept us from moving forward? 

Continue with the resentments and hatred that have eaten us up and made us so jaundiced we have become a terror to ourselves?
Continue wallowing in self pity that steers us out of the path of successfully competing for the few resources of this world?
Continue turning around in endless circles that have brought no dividend?
Or doing the same thing over and over again and which has not taken us to our Eldorado?

While persistence pays out at the long run, but doing the same self thing over and over again and expecting another result is the definition the English man has given to “insanity”

Today, BREAK WITH THE PAST and look forward, the future is in front, it is not at the back and that is why God placed our eyes right in front of us. 

He is so omnipotent that he knew that the only way to make progress is to move forward and to move forward we have to “shine our eyes”

Make today your day of a NEW BEGINNING. I am already making it mine.

Leave all those baggage that weigh you down and have over the years made you run around in circles without producing any tangible results.

Today, resolve to be a NEW PERSON.

And while you make that resolution, I am here and waiting for you. Right here at the TOP.

My arms are already outstretched to give you a warm bear hug of welcome.

Create The Future You Want

Ever since I can remember, I have always been hearing that maxim that says "the future will always be brighter and better."

I am sure that you have also been hearing it.

Flowing from that maxim is the fact that no matter how dark it is today, surely the Sun shall rise again on the morrow and brighten the darkness; that no matter how hungry we are today, certainly hunger shall not be our bed mate tomorrow; that tomorrow would surely find us better than we were yesterday or are today.

These are all assumptions that can become reality or remain as they are because, the future does not create itself.

The future is created by men and women as the case may be based on their own perceptions and realities.

This means that any person desirous of a better future MUST sit down with himself and His Creator to map out the plans to create such a future and that is not an easy task.

The person has to be sure of what s/he wants out of life; s/he has to know how to get what s/he wants and also put the appropriate plans in place and then work on them, a bite at a time.

If the future represents growth, then growing up is the tool for reaching there and fortunately all human beings are exposed to the same tools for growth as laid down from the time of creation. It is the appropriation of these tools and implements and in the cultivation of the farm given to us that the difference is made between those who achieve their desired growth and those who suffer from arrested development.

This therefore means that we get out of life the much we put into it because life is a hard taskmaster never willing to give anyone an inch more than he or she has asked for.

There can be no better future for a man or woman who makes no efforts at bettering himself or herself right from when he or she is pliable and highly impressionable to when he or she is set in his or her ways.

Just as a woman carries a pregnancy for at least 9 months and in due time brings forth a new life, so is the future. Each person born in this world is "pregnant" with his or her future and in order to bring it forth, s/he has to jealously guard the gestation period and allow nothing to interfere with the birthing process.

If you are strong willed and determined to make an impact, you would work on your plans and create your desired future.

For the faint hearted, willing only to be told what to do, not willing to take any initiative of their own, the future will always be a mirage which continues to disappear and appear again as effort is made to reach it.

Your future is in YOU, go create it as you want it.

Arise And Shine

Many people in the name of not wanting to ruffle the feathers literally live their lives in quiet desperation.

They prefer to hang out with those of the same stock with them or even those they are better off than.

They refuse to rise above their circumstances and environmental surroundings.

They are contented (but not necessarily happy) being low lives or at best mediocre; when they can, if they just decide, fly.

They are not comfortable in the midst of achievers and would do all in their powers not to be so exposed.

They look for excuses and alibi not to go beyond where they have placed themselves and they cling to every strand of reason to be where they are - their comfort zone, the shell they run into when the weather turns grey from green.

They forget that there are so many shades of grey.

That was the same condition that the paralyzed man by the Pool of Bethsaida was in before he encountered Christ.

For 38 solid years, he had lain by the side of the pool waiting for a favourable weather to be healed, for 38 years he had the same reason "no one to help him get in as soon as the waters were stirred by the Spirit, so that he could get cleansed and receive his healing," for 38 years he clung to that strand of excuse, making no efforts to free himself (since he already knew the remedy to his situation).

And when Christ came his way, He asked him "Do you WANT to get well?"

You can see from that question that it is our mindset that keeps us down, ordinarily we should be able to get whatever we want, if we are but willing to ACT on it.

If the paralyzed man by the Pool WANTED to get well, he would not have spent 38 years stranded by the Pool's side.

And even when Christ put the question to him, what was his answer? instead of being emphatic on what he wanted, he started giving a reason "I have no one . . . . . . . . ."

It was obvious that he was "enjoying" his state of paralysis (lazy mind indeed)

But when the grace of God came upon him, he became healed and picked up his mat and was on his way back to where he came from and at the same time broadcasting to any person with ears who was willing to listen that it was Jesus Christ that made him whole again.

In like manner, I want you to look into your life today and see those areas in which you are not shinning, today I want you to examine yourself completely from head to toe, today I want you to do an introspective analysis of yourself, what is your verdict? what do you see?

Do you want to get better?

It's your day to arise and shine because the glory of the Lord has come upon you.

The grace of God takes a man from where he ought not to be to where he ought to be, draw on that grace today and allow it to work in and for you.
