How Can You Get Back On Your Feet, After Setbacks Or Failures?

How Can You Get Back On Your Feet, After Setbacks Or Failures?

It's inevitable that you'll face a setback or struggle at some point in your life.

Things don't always go as expected, no matter how smart or experienced you are – and that's okay.

The mindset you adopt during or after these events can have a significant impact on the type of life you lead.

Taking on challenges is an inevitable part of life.

What do you usually do when you're confronted with difficulties or setbacks?

Do you find yourself descending into despair and depression?

Do you feel angry or upset and bring negative feelings around with you?

Because of setbacks or defeats, have you given up on your hopes and dreams?

If you are confronted with a setback or what you consider to be a total failure, you may choose to see these as opportunities to learn and develop.

They're chances to stop berating yourself, practice constructive thinking, and discover your true potential.

The distinction between highly successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people tend to learn from their setbacks and failures.

In reality, they are more likely to learn important lessons about themselves and life in general from them.

They also have a tendency to maintain a more optimistic attitude during their journey. It is possible, even if it is not always convenient.

Make Thinking Positive a Habit

Start planning what you'll do if you experience a disappointment or a mistake in the future.

You see, sometimes a failure isn't even a failure.

Some people don't consider it a loss because they see it as an opportunity to learn something new.

You did not fail because you did not complete what you set out to do or because the project did not go as expected.

It simply means you tried something, learned a few things along the way, and were unable to achieve the desired result.

Did you know that Thomas Edison attempted thousands of times to create the light bulb?

Some might claim he failed every time the bulb didn't turn on, but he didn't see it that way.

He saw it as a learning opportunity, and he was determined to keep trying.

He did succeed, as you know, after several attempts. He didn't have a pessimistic outlook and say to himself, "Oh no, I'll never be able to get this thing to function." Instead, he used motivational thinking to say, "Oh yes!" I'm going to make this thing work!”

Consider a toddler who is learning to walk.

They make a lot of mistakes and fall down, but that doesn't make them a loser.

We motivate them to get up and try again as adults.

“Come on, keep trying,” we suggest. It'll be fine. You've got it!” They begin to realize that slipping and dropping are normal parts of the learning process.

We should look at our lives in the same light.

Positive thinking will help, and it's something we can do. Make the decision in your heart that no matter what happens, you will maintain a positive attitude. And if you fall or fail, you'll get back up and try again, learning valuable lessons along the way.

Persistence is rewarded.

I know a woman who aspired to be a published author. She started out as a freelance writer and worked for a few years before learning about the publishing industry.

She started getting rejection letters after she sent out her book proposal to a number of agents.

She may have seen this as a setback.

After all, rejection is a difficult pill to take.

She didn't give up, however, and she didn't see the rejections as failures.

She knew before she even sent out the first proposal that no matter what happened, she would think positively.

She was adamant that she would find an agent willing to take a gamble on her novel, even if it took 1000 proposals.

What's more, guess what?

She got her break a year later.

She got her book deal after 86 rejections, revisions, and constructive thinking! How's that for perseverance and reward?

Getting Back on Track After a Setback

It's possible that working toward a target would not go as expected. Accept it right away. Simultaneously, commit to getting back on your feet after a setback and resuming your momentum.

Take notes on what you've learned. If you're having trouble figuring out what went wrong, consider reaching out to a counselor or coach for assistance.

We can't really see what happened or what lessons we can take away from a situation.

You may believe you're on the right track, but a failure may prompt you to change course and go in a different direction. That's fine, too. You might have a period of rapid success followed by a dry spell. That's fine, too. Your mindset and outlook will aid you in overcoming any failure or slow period. Adopting a positive outlook can also be beneficial.

After a loss, you will recover momentum by shifting your perspective and persevering in your goals.

If you're having trouble figuring out what's going on and need some guidance, know that there are plenty of people who will be happy to assist you.

You don't have to go through life by yourself.

In reality, we're wired for communication as humans, so don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.

Also, keep in mind that you will have fun along the way. We can get into striving mode when we are too focused on the end goals. We can wake up and go about our days bearing enormous quantities of tension, binding our satisfaction to the end target.

Try to relax and enjoy the ride. Allow yourself to relax, rest, and play. You will maintain momentum in all of your efforts and come to appreciate the whole process and journey.

That is a great objective to strive for, so pursue it no matter what.

As 2019 Ends

On January 1st, 2019, we all welcomed 2019 with open and waiting arms not knowing what it had brought with it but with the hope that all will be well for us.

Today is the 31st of December 2019 - the last day of 2019 because by 12 midnight today, we shall bid eternal farewell to 2019 and welcome the magical year 2020.

2019 has run its full course with a potpourri of events and activities
Some of us lost our loved ones to the cold hands of death - (my sympathies and condolences please)
Some of us lost out in businesses (do take heart please)
Some of us failed to achieve our aims and aspirations in the outgoing year (try again please)
But
Some of us got married after many years of Bachelorhood and Spinsterhood (congratulations)
Some of us were blessed with new births in their households ( congratulations)
Some of us experienced all round promotion (congratulations too)
Some of us excelled in our academics, politics, businesses e.t.c. (congratulations all)

However, the greatest miracle this passing year brought to us is that God in His infinite Mercy and Grace sustained the breath of life in us all through the months no matter how dangerous the weather and other living conditions were.

The miracle of being alive can never be equaled anywhere

May all Power, Honour, Dominion, Adoration, and Thanksgiving be returned unto Him Who sits in the Heavenly Realms and His Eyes rove all around the World beholding the affairs of men- even the Most Wise God - Amen

How Can We Make This Monday Count?

How do you feel towards Monday?
Are you grumpy over it because the weekend and all its relaxation and quiet times have ended or are you excited that a new day is in town?

It's actually a feeling that you have control over. You have a choice to make when it comes to how you take Monday.

Is Monday a chore and a bore or is it eclectic and exciting? That is the question

But whatever the answer you give, you can actually make Monday count and here's how to

1.    Think positively

Living life on the positive lane has its many rewards and advantages.
a.    You have the assured feeling that the fact that something is difficult does not make it impossible; b.      you find yourself having the confidence that no matter what comes your way, you would overcome it;
c.    you enjoy a coaster-ride with the train of happiness even if your insides are churning up because you know that nothing lasts forever and that no condition is permanent and so you won’t let unhappiness and sadness ruin your Monday.

2.    Be Enthusiastic About Life

Let all who come across you feel your enthusiasm about life and living.

You know that if you are alive and well, you are far better off than all those who died over the night and all those who found themselves in the hospitals.

Life has to be lived, and you are here to live it to the hilt today.

3.    Be Hopeful

There's nothing anyone on earth can do without hope.

It is said that in the face of calamities, hope is usually the last thing to be ditched and there are really no hopeless situations.

Exercising hope shows a belief in a Supernatural being Who is over all

4.    Show Some Love

It is love not money that makes the world go round and once you have love, you definitely have everything.

This Monday show some love
Reach out to the fatherless, the motherless, the homeless, the elderly, let them feel that someone else cares

5.    Motivate Someone

Be a motivator, be a mentor to someone today.
It does not cost much

6.    Expect The Best From Others

The times we are in do not seem to encourage us to get out of ourselves but in life we cannot afford to be too selfish and too self-centred.

Giving others a benefit of the doubt is one way to make friends and retain them

Today, have a good expectation from others.

Make this Monday count - however you can

Enjoy your Monday

Neither Envy Nor Mock Anyone - Nothing Is As It Seems

Obama retired at 55, Trump started at 70.
Showing that there are #EarlyBloomers and #LateBloomers

Sydney is 3 hours ahead of Perth, but that doesn't make Perth slow.

Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5 years after NYSC before securing a good job.
Another graduated at age 27 and secured a good job a year after NYSC

Someone became a CEO at 25 and died at 50.
While another became a CEO at 50 and lived to 90 years.

Someone is still single and very willing to be married, while someone else got married and very willing to be single again.

Someone became a Millionaire at age 35
Another became a Millionaire at age 60

Someone started their family at age 30 and had his first kid at age 31
Another started his family at age 45 and had his first kid at age 41

Someone became a Grand Mother at age 44
Another became a Grand Mother at age 65

Everyone in this world works based on their time zone.

People around you might seem to be ahead of you and some might seem to be behind you.

But everyone is running their own race, in their own time.
Do not envy them and do not mock them.

They are in their time zone, and you are in yours.

Life is not about waiting for the right moment to act; but about acting irrespective of the moment.

So relax.
You're not early.
You're not late.
You are very much on time.

Nothing is ever assured, nothing is as it seems, nothing is promised
Time and chance happen to each and every one in their lives

Your Destiny Is For The Top

When you were conceived, you had your own personally branded DNA and that DNA has success embedded in it.

This means that life has equipped you with all that you need to succeed in life.

However. life is a #HardTaskMaster, it never gives you anything on a platter of gold.

If you want to succeed in life, you must have to work hard at it.

To succeed therefore, you need to be focused and never give up on your journey to success regardless of how difficult life may look.

Where survival seems negligible due to the outstanding volume of obstacles along the path. Use your strengths and opportunities to the fullest and don't forget to know the weaknesses and threats that lie along the way.

Keep focused and always aim for the peak to be your final destiny!

Don't ever let your circumstances or people hold you down.

Instead of just thinking outside the box in your journey to success, #BreakTheBox

Get out there and take what's yours to claim your destiny.

You are a #ChildOfDestiny

Go out there and fulfill it

Remember to thank God, when you have made it to the top because it is only His grace that can take you that far

Today, do the best you can

I am your friend

Are You Prepared For That Decision That Will Ruin Your Life?

What's riskier? Staying in a job you're not growing in, or quitting your job and starting all over? James Altucher asked one of the most brilliant questions: "How many people can make a major decision that will ruin your life?" If all it takes is one person to say "You're fired" or "Our entire department is getting laid off" or "Amazon just bought our competitor, we're screwed," then who's at risk more? The person who didn't take any risks with their career and was relying on permission from other people to learn new skills and move up the corporate ladder? Or the person that said to themselves, "I've seen this story before. It doesn't end well. Why don't I pack my bags, get my life together, try some new things and see what sticks." It's impossible to live life without risk. If you're avoiding it, you're asking for a miserable, unfulfilled life. "It is in the presence of danger that we are gifted with the strong incentive for action, dedication and surpassing oneself" ~ Anne Dufourmantelle (To the people who have a spouse, children, mortgage, etc - Risk is not saying YOLO and missing your child's tuition payments. Risk is understanding that the best way to take care of your family is to make sure you're prepared when that 1 person makes a decision to ruin your life.

You Are The CEO Of Your Own Life

Do you know that we all have just ONE LIFE to live?

Do you know that when a man is dead, his own Christ has come?

Do you know that all our struggles to be anything are only here on earth and that though no one has come back from the dead to let us know how their own world is but the Scriptures make us understand that the dead have no emotions, no memories and nothing alive again in them

Knowing all these therefore, what are we supposed to be doing with the daily opportunity we have to still be on this side of eternity?

Picture your life as a Corporate entity, do you know that you are the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of your life?

When God created you, He gave you the Power of Choice, so instead of living your life by chance, you can really live it by choice!!

As the CEO of Your life, it is your responsibility to make it a success with numerous dividends on all fronts

Take control of your life today and be the best you can be while you still have the opportunity

Good Morning - Thank God You're Alive

When morning gilds the skies
My heart awaking cries
May Jesus Christ be praised
Alike at work and prayer
To Jesus I repair
May Jesus Christ be praised

Whene’er the sweet church bell
Peals over hill and dell
May Jesus Christ be praised
O hark to what it sings
As joyously it rings
May Jesus Christ be praised

My tongue shall never tire
Of chanting with the choir
May Jesus Christ be praised
The song of sacred joy
It never seems to cloy
May Jesus Christ be praised

Does sadness fill my mind
A solace here I find
May Jesus Christ be praised
Or fades my earthly bliss
My comfort still is this
May Jesus Christ be praised

The night becomes as day
When from the heart we say
May Jesus Christ be praised
The powers of darkness fear
When this sweet chant they hear
May Jesus Christ be praised

Be this while life is mine
My canticle divine
May Jesus Christ be praised
Be this the eternal song
Through ages all along
May Jesus Christ be praised
