The Truth - 19

The Truth - 19

*The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing But The Truth*

The story is told of a black woman who packed into a predominantly white suburb somewhere in the USA - infact she was the first black woman so to do.

The residents were all filled with angst against her - wondering how she managed to work herself up to the level of coming to settle in their area.

One particular elderly woman was so much vexed than others that she took it upon herself to ensure that she made the woman leave the place.

Every morning she would package her faeces and throw it into the black woman's compound.

The first few days really irked the black woman and even though she knew the perpetrator of that act, she refused to confront her; instead she decided to use the faeces as compost, so she dug a pit and each day she moved the faeces into the compost pit. When she noticed that enough manure had formed, she sprinkled rose seeds there-upon and when they germinated, she tended them until they started flowering.

One day, she heard screams from the other Compound - incidentally the Elderly White Woman's residence (by the way, they were neighbours separated only by a walled fence) and she was moved to rush to the place to know what was going on (the Elderly woman lived all alone).

it turned out that the white woman had experienced a heart attack and was lying prostrate on the floor, so the black woman became not only the first neighbour to reach her but also had to call 911 that came without delay to take her to the Hospital.

The Black woman did not leave the elderly woman's side until she recovered consciousness.

And when the elderly white woman came around, she not only saw the Black woman by her side but she also saw a bouquet of roses on her side table.

She wept

She confessed to the Black woman that she was the one that used to throw faeces into her compound just to make her uncomfortable and cause her to leave the place - the Black woman said she knew and that she had already forgiven her

And when the elderly woman inquired after the source of the red roses - the black woman told her that they came from the compost pit she had dug with the faeces she was supplying her every morning

And she wept the more

She asked for forgiveness and promised to be a good neighbour moving forward.

It may seem difficult to forgive someone who has hurt you deeply and sometimes very deeply but that is the best thing to do for your own good health and this is irrespective of whether they were remorseful or not.

When you forgive, you release yourself from hatred and bitterness which are like live charcoal inside of one and burning one up.

Men would always transgress but forgiveness is divine

Now, that is  *the Truth, the WHOLE Truth and nothing but the Truth*
