How Can We Make This Monday Count?





How do you feel towards Monday?
Are you grumpy over it because the weekend and all its relaxation and quiet times have ended or are you excited that a new day is in town?

It's actually a feeling that you have control over. You have a choice to make when it comes to how you take Monday.

Is Monday a chore and a bore or is it eclectic and exciting? That is the question

But whatever the answer you give, you can actually make Monday count and here's how to

1.    Think positively

Living life on the positive lane has its many rewards and advantages.
a.    You have the assured feeling that the fact that something is difficult does not make it impossible; b.      you find yourself having the confidence that no matter what comes your way, you would overcome it;
c.    you enjoy a coaster-ride with the train of happiness even if your insides are churning up because you know that nothing lasts forever and that no condition is permanent and so you won’t let unhappiness and sadness ruin your Monday.

2.    Be Enthusiastic About Life

Let all who come across you feel your enthusiasm about life and living.

You know that if you are alive and well, you are far better off than all those who died over the night and all those who found themselves in the hospitals.

Life has to be lived, and you are here to live it to the hilt today.

3.    Be Hopeful

There's nothing anyone on earth can do without hope.

It is said that in the face of calamities, hope is usually the last thing to be ditched and there are really no hopeless situations.

Exercising hope shows a belief in a Supernatural being Who is over all

4.    Show Some Love

It is love not money that makes the world go round and once you have love, you definitely have everything.

This Monday show some love
Reach out to the fatherless, the motherless, the homeless, the elderly, let them feel that someone else cares

5.    Motivate Someone

Be a motivator, be a mentor to someone today.
It does not cost much

6.    Expect The Best From Others

The times we are in do not seem to encourage us to get out of ourselves but in life we cannot afford to be too selfish and too self-centred.

Giving others a benefit of the doubt is one way to make friends and retain them

Today, have a good expectation from others.

Make this Monday count - however you can

Topic:    Top 5 Things To Do In Order To Be Successful

There are popular sayings about success that I am hinging this presentation on.

It is said that "success is not a destination but a journey", this simply means that there are many facets or faces of success and that one might be successful in one facet and be challenged in the other facet and so one continually pursues success in all the facets even as we pursue excellence and perfection.

It is also said that "success has many relatives but failure is an orphan", the man who has achieved success in one field of endeavour continually attracts more success in that field, this keeps him very busy and active much unlike the person in the same field of endeavour but who has  not made a mark.

And it is also said that "success leaves trails", no sentence could be truer than this. The successful person continually drops hints of how he achieved success as he interacts with people either at workshops or seminars or talks and these trails could be picked by anyone and used to achieve their own success.

In order therefore to be successful, here is the list of my Top 5 things to do in this 2019 to be successful

1.    Avoid Procrastination Like The Plague

If you have never achieved much in any particular year, it can be related to the fact that you think that the year is waiting for you; in contrariwise, the year is on the move, whether you are moving with or not, it's just moving and unfortunately, you simply can't catch up with if you allow it to give you such a long gap.

This is what procrastination does to us, it makes us postpone for tomorrow that which we can do today because we think that we shall have more time tomorrow and we forget that tomorrow comes with its own challenges that would also demand our time.

So if you must succeed, you must chase procrastination out of your life and do it immediately.

Whatever comes your way and needs to be done, should be done without delay.

My personal mantra over the years has been - Do It Now and it has helped me quite a lot.

Avoid procrastination as you would avoid the bubonic plague.

2.    Embrace Change

It is popularly said that the only thing that is constant in life is change and I am not talking about it as a political slogan but as a fact of life and living.

Whether we accept it or not, we are changing on daily basis, not only our bodies but also our physical environment continues to change.

Technological development has left many of us trudging along behind because we are not able to cope with the speed of change.

Yesterday, it was the analog telephone that was the in-thing, then Thuraya came but today, all those big phones have become big for nothing, a small phone can do what a computer can do because chips and microchips are now being deployed to do what cannot be done before.

In order therefore not to be left behind, embrace that which is new and learn its ways so that you can benefit maximally from its use.
  
Change is necessary for self-development; both mentally and physically if you want to live a happy life.

At our work places, change is crucial if you want to get recognition and promotions.

You can get quality education to make your CV rich and get a better understanding of the business world.

If nothing changed, everything would become stagnant and never improve.

So, give up your resistance to change

3.    Give Up Your Fears

Fear is the senior brother of procrastination. The fear of the unknown is a very terrible thing indeed and helps to keep us chained at one particular place without making any efforts to take a trip because we are afraid of the outcome of that trip.

But do you know that Fear is a state of the mind? and that we allow ourselves to dwell in that state because it is conducive for us!

There are decisions we need to take, things we need to do but we allow fear to hold us back and down and by the time we realize the harm we had done to ourselves, the years have left us behind.

This, however, is not to disparage genuine and real fears, like the fear of doing any dangerous exercise that may cost us our lives, that kind of fear is what keeps us going but any other kind of fear that keeps us away from what we need to do should be done away with

Fear is a dangerous intangible thing that can hinder your progress and affect your relationships.

It was Roosevelt who said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

So this year, replace fear with love and curiosity and watch yourself grow rich in experience.

When fear comes knocking on your door, let courage answer it

4.    Give Up Self-Deprecation

If your mindset is that which often thinks low about you, certainly you'd always talk down on yourself

Low self-esteem is a dangerous thing and often leads to persons having suicidal tendencies.

Undervaluing yourself is surely not the way to go because it ruins your self-confidence and makes you feel bitter all the time.

Self-deprecation always puts one in a sorry state.

This year, remind yourself that you are alive not by your own might and power but by the Infinite Power and your Senior Partner

Remind yourself that life is beautiful and thus needs to be lived while one still has the opportunity to live it.

So, it doesn't really matter what your personal situation is right now, what matters is that you are alive and only the living can have hope because once there is life, there is hope.

Speak up for yourself, never take No for an answer

Regardless of the situation, you are in now, don’t ever think the worst of yourself.

Patience is a virtue and it will help you deal with the discomfort in a way that best suits your life and the people around you.

Why don’t you inspire yourself and work hard to achieve your dreams?

5.    Give Up Over- thinking And Thinking Small

Many people are challenged in the area of thinking.

Some find themselves in the habit of always thinking so much about what has come to them that they even become sick from such action.

It is good to think, that is why we have Philosophers who propound theories of existence from what they have thought out, however, too much thinking or over thinking as the case may be is not good for your health.

I would that you rather practice critical thinking.
Face the situation squarely, analyze it, check the cons and the pros, and then make a decision.

Over-thinking results in over analyzing and which will end up causing paralysis of analysis and leave you prostrate without taking any action.

On the other side of the coin is Small Thinking.
Again quite a lot of people are challenged by small thinking.

They never believe that they are worth more than they are at the moment and so when issues come up that demand higher and bigger thoughts, they get lost.

I need to remind us that we are all born genius without exceptions but most people fail to succeed because of their limited thinking.

Today break that barrier and unleash the you that you are supposed to be.

Give free rein to your thoughts, stop limiting yourself.

Infact, people are often advised to think outside the box if they want to have better answers to issues that are confronting them, today I want to ask you to BREAK THAT BOX and release yourself to be free to operate in a world that you have a right to be in.

Top 5 Most Important Things To Do This January






TOP 5 MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO THIS JANUARY TO SET THE PACE FOR A SUCCESSFUL YEAR



1.      Take Stock of 2018 - usually termed "The Year in Review"

-        What were your achievements?
          what is the how of them?

-        What were your failures?
          what is the why of them?

2.      Set Your Goals for 2019

Distinguish your goals from New Year Resolutions

A Goal is a vision that is stepped down into a mission and captured in prints - black and white

The goals could be

Personal Development Goals
Career Progression goals
Financial goals
Wealth Building Goals
Success Goals
Business Development goals

3.      Map Out A PLAN of ACTION to achieve your goals

This is always the crux of the matter and here is what makes the difference between New Year Resolutions and Goals in their achievement.


Most New Year Resolutions are made on the spur of the moment out of excitement but real goals are written down on paper and constantly sighted.

A plan is a step by step executable action to achieve a goal

And if you must achieve your goals, you have to have a plan of action because a man who fails to plan has already planned to fail.

4.      Set Your Morning Ritual or Morning Routine

The morning hour - especially the wake up time - is the most important part of the day and that is why it is said that how the morning starts determines how the whole of the day would go

It goes like this
-        wake up
-        take two glasses of water (at room temperature)
-        break a sweat
-        refresh (empty your bowels, take a bath e.t.c)
-        Eat breakfast

Then you are good to go

5.      Establish Your Authentic Self

In God, you're someone very special and unique; there is no other person in this whole wide world that is you, so be the you that you are.

All the packaging
All the false life style
All the faking
take no one no where

nobody cares really
nobody is impressed

People will relate with and to you better when they know that you are the real original you and not a photocopy

So, Be You

I am fully persuaded that if you put these 5 things into proper perspective, you would surely have a better year this 2019

Happy New Year





When we sleep and wake up in the morning hale and hearty, we may not appreciate how miraculous that is and so we tend to take it for granted. I need to remind you that hundreds of thousands of people go to bed in the night and before the morning dawns, they have transited to the land where the dead go to; other hundreds of thousands go to bed and wake up in a shape that was not how they were when they went to bed and all that.

And so when you wake up from sleep, hale, hearty and of sound mind, you simply have to be grateful to the Creator.

Not all who saw January 1st, 2018, are alive today to witness January 1st, 2019 and since God has made it possible for us to be here today, we simply have to be grateful.

And in this New Year, I have just one wish for you - that you realize what is of utmost importance to you, that which your heart doubles in its beating at the mention of it, that which you crave with all your being and just PURSUE IT

If you never go for what you desire, there is no way you can get it

Rise up and take the first step

Happy New Year to you and all that is yours
