The DPA

The day before today, I had written on "No More Excuses" http://bit.ly/1Ko19F0 and in the write up, I had stated that  " And for me, doing actually starts with what I call the DPA. If you don't know what the acronym DPA stands for, then don't forget to keep in touch with us morrow when we shall write on the DPA".

So, today, in keeping with that my promise of yesterday, I am writing on DPA

Nobody who is somebody today did it without taking DPA into cognizance.

And no matter what we might become again tomorrow, DPA must be involved in actualizing that.

So, what is DPA?

DPA is the acronym I coined for what I consider to be the 3 most important factors in the achievement of success in whatever field of endeavour.

And they are:

D- Desire

In the race of life, desire plays a great role in what we become, what we achieve, who we relate with and even who we eventually settle down with.

Desire is in the realm of imagination and it is popularly said that there is nothing (absolutely nothing) that the heart of a man can imagine and desire and which that man cannot achieve.

History is replete with men and women who imagined and desired to be famous in one way or the other and who eventually got what they wanted.

Even our Lord Jesus Christ intently and earnestly desired to fulfill His Father's Will and that was why He took the cup of death for the sake of mankind.

On a personal note, I desired to be a Medical Doctor and by God's special grace, I am one.

I am sure quite a number of you also desired to be one thing or the other and eventually became that.

That we become what we earnestly desire to be is a vindication of that statement that a man can be whatever he so desires to be.

P - Plan

This is the second factor in my DPA route and of course stands for Plan.

Whatever it is that a man desires, he must have a plan to bring it to reality.

A Plan is therefore very essential in achieving our desires.

Even though God had the MIGHT and POWER to decree the earth and heavens and all that there are in them into existence in a twinkle of an eye, but He had a plan for each of the things He created. And so for each day, He created one thing, sat back, took a good look at what He created and declared it good.

So, as men created in God's own Image, we ought to follow His example.

There is nothing like an overnight success; any man who has achieved some measure of success in his field of endeavour, has been at it for a while and surely must have laid out a road map (plan) towards achieving his mission.

Plans come in various forms and ways - short term, middle term, long term.

Plan out your desire and see it come true

A - Action

The third and last factor in my DPA route to success

Action does it.

No matter how beautiful our plans are, if we fail to act on them, nothing shall come out of them.

Action determines all and makes all the difference between success and failure.

It is action that separates the "be" from the "would have"

So, whatever it is that a man wants to achieve, then a plan that is actually acted upon, would definitely lead to success.

What are you willing to achieve today?

Apply my DPA to it and tell me about it when you succeed

Cheers to a good day
