In this Blog Post, I am answering some questions that have been asked by millions of people over time - such as What is Success?, Why is Success Important In Life?, Who Is A Successful Person?, How Can One Achieve Success?
In starting, I would like to mention right away that each and every one of us has the success gene embedded in our DNA and so if any of us is experiencing any challenges in being successful, it only means that s/he has not activated that success gene and therefore needs to do that pronto.
What is Success?
Success is simply the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
Success is a journey and not a destination
The dictionary describes success as the following: “attaining wealth, prosperity and/or fame”.
Being successful means the achievement of desired visions and planned goals.
Furthermore, success can be a certain social status that describes a prosperous person that could also have gained fame for its favorable outcome.
Why is Success Important In Life?
Life is lived so that we can achieve our utmost desires, hopes, and dreams.
We all see ourselves somewhere in the distant future; we all have goals, dreams, and aspirations.
Success means achieving those goals; it means that you can get what you've always wanted.
And in a way, being successful is realizing your goals and aspirations; that's why it is so important
Who Is A Successful Person?
A successful person is one who has been able to achieve a balance in work and life. Such a person has mastered the art of maximizing his or her presence where-ever s/he may be.
Successful people are confident and can lead themselves, as well as others.
They have their own vision and mission and seek to bring it to life on a daily basis.
They also know who they aren't and don't waste time on things that they aren't good at or they aren't satisfied with.
How Can One Achieve Success?
There is a very simple format to use in any field of endeavour to achieve success.
a. Desire
b. Believe
c. Visualize
d. Goals
e. Plan
f. Action (Work the Plan)
Achieving goals is powerful and affects our success in life.
When we dare to dream about what we truly desire and set goals in that direction, a powerful shift happens.
Life is now lived with greater direction and purpose.

Success to me means one who has actually attained an enviable and respectable height in life. Most times, I measure it with ones affluence.
ReplyDeleteSuccess is a journey and not a destination means to me that, there is no limit to achieving success. Success is a continuous process that needs be bequeathed to the next generation. It should not die off as if it has gone extinction. Success is successional. An example is where we are now, DR JTF OGUZIE IS to me successful in this movement, as a result, the confidence to bequeath these virtues into all of us is exhuming on daily basis. He is almost like a compendium and what he is offering seems like an ocean that never gets dry. If this lectures here are a destination, methinks, we would have all alighted but because it's an amazing journey, that's why we are still rolling on. Every vision and mission today accomplished by most elites in diverse fields of life is still reverberating till today. It's a legacy and legendary amongst mankind till date. The success stories of all those feats have never stopped calling. The aeroplane, radio, electricity, televisions etc are all success stories. They have never ended but are always refined and refurbished to better ones from the set pace/take off model. Success is truly a journey not a destination.
A short story should showcase someone who has started something and has achieved certain aspects of it while still working on it

ReplyDelete1. Success to me is achieving any setout goal or plan.
2. I have always dreamt of becoming a very talented saxophonist who will be celebrated on the global stage one day. I enjoyed watching professionals like my mentor Mr. Sambo play with dexterity. I soon noticed that learning to play the saxophone wasn't easy after all. At times I felt great pain in my upper lip and mouth. Mr. Sambo was a very patient and understanding man who took a particular interest in me. I eventually began my career playing in bars and social events, receiving my fair share of criticism and scorn; which sometimes seemed to deter me; but after every performance at least it felt good getting in front of people to play. Each time I performed, I went back to correct my mistakes and I noticed in myself great improvements in subsequent performances.
One day after performing in church service, a decently dressed man walked up to me and invited me to perform at a gala and unknown to me he was a politician. On the day of the event I stepped up to play and after my performance, I received great applauds and I got to meet Mr David Gill who was an astute saxophonist; he invited me to join his band and for me I knew that playing for him was my ticket to performing alongside other renowned musicians on the world stage. Success for me is a journey, only achievable by determination, diligence, discipline and consistent devotion to one's dreams and on the road to success, you must carry with you the resilient spirit.
Good job
DeleteI wish to see you one day perform as a saxophonist
1.Success to me means the accomplishment of goals and aspirations one sets out to fulfil, the achievement of sets of desired visions or planned goals. For example , when a young man writes JAMB after completing secondary school and gets admission into a University and completes his programme in the University and graduates in flying colors, such a man is said to achieve success.Like wise when one embarks on a trade and makes progress in the trade to live a fulfilling and admirable life, such a person is also said to achieve success. In another vein, one who gradually goes through life whether through trade or education, marries, raises children and goes ahead to train them in whatever vocation the children chose is also said to achieve success !
ReplyDelete2. Success Is A Journey Not A Destination :
It is often said that success occurs when preparation meets opportunity. Now, opportunities will undoubtedly present themselves with time, but how we treat ourselves through all of the time spent in preparation for accomplishing our goals is very important.
As a young man in the secondary school, I did relatively well and didn't have much challenge in choosing what I wanted to study in the University. By God's grace , I made the merit list of Medicine and Surgery of my set at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and enrolled. Going through the medical curriculum to me was not very funny really but I persevered. There was a lot of challenges that severally one contemplated giving up. I remember, one of the days my mum visited me in school and on that fateful day, 2nd MB results was released and many students were withdrawn including an two identical twins. My mum was scared and I remember she asked me whether I could cope and my answer was is it not the same programme that women survive ? Later on it dawned on me that most females coped better. To cut long story short, I went through medical school and eventually graduated as a medical doctor. I got married to my wife and we are raising our growing children with equanamity inspite of enormous economic and domestic challenges
Success is not something that we ARRIVE at one day. Success has everything to do with our individual day to day choices, actions and experiences. No matter how big or small they are.
Success Is A Journey Not A Destination
We should have FAITH and always believe that we will achieve anything we set out to do.
We should Start to view ourselves and our world today as being MIRACULOUS and TRUST that we will create anything we set out to do.
Albert Einstein said:
“There are only two ways to live your life
One is as though NOTHING is a miracle
The other is as though EVERYTHING is a miracle”
I personally chose that life is a miracle because with all the doubts, fears, setbacks, challenges and also victories I have encountered as a person and still encountering ,I know that by all standards that I am part of success today. Finally we should always bear in mind that Success is a journey and not a destination as the road we thread towards success is as important as the success itself !
A great start but a deviation at the middle
DeleteA good motivational and inspirations piece though
Success is my own term is the achievement of a desired objective whether academic, financial or social. For one to get to that height one needs plans laid and followed consistently until that goals are actualized.
ReplyDelete2. when we say success is a journey not a destination it means it takes times and gradual steps before that height that one wants is reached and everyone has a stipulated time before that height is reached. One should not rush to achieved that desired height but it small steps in the right direction following the laid down principles gradually.
The short story part of the assignment is missing
DeleteSuccess is the accomplishment of goals set by individuals. For me it is the balance of meeting up to life's target without being a danger to self.
ReplyDelete2. Success is a journey not a destination. I vividly remember when I was at the crossroads, then I was paid a miserable amount of money, no skills, was used like a tissue paper with no result. I embarked on the journey to start residency and acquire some skills in public health.i had to plan my way out.first I had to do a masters in public health on an empty stomach except for the determination that this is my ticket from coming out of this rat hole.then I proceeded to write the primaries which was a journey in itself but till now I am a specialist and still preparing for my fellowship. It has been a challenging study with twists and turns but am grateful for the man am becoming

Delete1. I think success means different thing for different people, but still point out to one being able to achieve a desired definite planor purpose. I can simply say that success is when an intentional objective have been achieved and the achiever is happy with the overall outcome.
ReplyDelete2. Success has always been a journey for me, even when the journey seems to have no exact end. We tend to aspire to achieve a certain goal or get to a acquire a particular level in life. Perosk, I have always wanted to be problem solver in the energy industry(Power supply), not necessarily just an Electrical Engineer, but one that wants to contribute towards humanity and make people happy. Acquiring a degree in the University was one of the plans, but that is not good enough because it just doesn't end there, I keep on working and learning the relevant and necessary skills needed for the journey ahead. I can not say I have not been successful, but the truth is that, there is still more to do and we should always be in the process of getting better and improving oir3no matter how small it is. It is a journey for me and hopefully we will get there because there is more to life than we have ever imagined.
Alright
Delete1. My own understanding of the Word success is for some to progress positively in anything he/she sets out to do.
ReplyDelete2. In 2007 January I finished my youth service and although I got many job offers immediately, I declined all because they were all in Lagos and I needed a job in the east. And that made me to start applying for any Job opening with eastern location.
I was called for an exam an interview in June 2007 in an Insurance firm for a marketing position, being a medical biochemist it wasn't easy but I got the job by God's Grace.
My start up pay was commission based and allowance, I took it up and decided to work hard. My first pay was 25,000 in August 2007, along the line, I lost my first husband in 2009 August and that slowed me down. But then with God and determination, I regained myself attaining promotion to Unit supervisor 2011, unit head 2013, unit Manager 2015, Retail Manager 2016 and became a the manager Incharge of Imo, Abia and Enugu state from 2017. And I still work hard to ensure I succeed further. So my story clearly shows that success is a journey not a destination. Thanks.
Success is a continuous achievement
ReplyDeleteLife is a school where one continues to learn, when in school I failed once and it seemed that there's no hope of continuing meanwhile I had a dream of becoming a successful optometrist.
My dreams came through with efforts and the way I started thinking telling myself just a little longer and who you are will shine through, also that a feet that walked a million miles, sleep sound with a smile.mistaakes will always scream to you and you learn lessons only blunders can teach you but in all don't let anger get to your mind and rage will cause the heart to go blind, but when you have your desires and believe in your visualized goals you create a plan on how you can achieve your goals then you take actions.
Exactly what I did and yes am a practicing optometrist with my own clinic.success to me is journey cause I have not stopped practicing and I indulge in other income earning jobs like outreaches and home care services.
A normal teacher only teaches you, a good teacher makes you understand, if s/he is great then s/he will show you how to apply. But some teachers inspire us to the convener I thank you cause you are my inspiration.
1. Early Nightingale defined success as the is progressive realization of a worthy ideal.I agree with him.
ReplyDelete2. My early education was largely unsuccessful. No, I was not a dull student, neither did I fail in my tests or exams, rather I excelled,I conformed to going to school like my siblings and age mates. Success is the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal, if a man is working towards a predetermined goal and that man knows where he is going then he is a success, if he is not doing that, he is a failure. I neither had a predetermined goal, nor was I working toward one, I conformed to society,so my early education from this perspective was a failure. Goal setting should be taught early in life. Fast forward to my University days, after two years as a biochemistry student, I decided to study medicine, becoming a doctor became my goal, my ideal.I switched colleges and took all the challenges that came with it in my stride. At the point of graduation , several lessons learnt became crystal clear when the whole process was subjected to critical analysis;
• As champion boxers are not made in the ring of competition, but in the journey of several bouts of rigorous training, so doctors are not made by the final exams but by the journey of burning the midnight candle and endless swoting. It is the journey of becoming your set ideal that makes you who you are, success at any predetermined ideal is resident in the journey.
• To extrapolate, some of us never set becoming wealthy as an ideal or a goal, we simply conformed to going to school, getting a job and earning a salary; and for that reason have not achieved financial success. To achieve financial success, we must reinvent ourselves and decide to be financially free, then progressively work towards this ideal through well established precepts and strategies, in this process we become wealthy. Success is a journey and not a destination.
